Fox News trying to paint camera enforcement in Beijing as some sort of dystopian surveillance nightmare is pretty funny when almost all US cities use red light cameras, toll cameras, license plate readers, and stop sign cameras that send you tickets in the mail. Only difference is that China’s system is much more efficient and effective. Also, a $40 double parking ticket seems reasonable compared to cities like NYC or SF where it’s easily over $100.
